Running a marathon in heels ?

I had an unusual question that I thought you might be able to answer: a French woman recently ran the Paris marathon in a pair of 3 inch heels, finishing in just over 6 hours. It's easy to imagine that such a feat is not good for the human body, and probably causes a good deal of pain, but I was wondering, what happens physiologically when a woman runs 26.2 miles in high heels? What kind of pains is one likely to suffer? What kind of damage can that cause?

Marathons are pretty brutal on the body anyway, let alone running in high heel shoes.
However, 6hrs, is a pretty slow run or even a fast walk. A lot will depend on how much training she had done in the heels to get used to them.
She could have hurt pretty much anything from the back down to forefoot problems such as pinched nerves to bunion pain.
