Am I doing more damage by walking?

I have peroneal tendonopathy following an inversion ankle sprain 12 days ago. Foot feels stiff but mostly pain free in the mornings, but towards the end of the day I am in a lot of pain (stabbing pain when I actually walk) and limping.

Should I be using crutches, or is it better to continue to walk?

My podiatrist said it was ok to walk but no running, but I would just like a different perspective.

Generally, the purpose of "pain" is to tell you that you are doing something that you should not be doing. Getting as much movement as possible within the limits of the pain is important following any injury. Its hard to say with axamining you, but generally in your situation I would recommend that you do keep walking, but cut back on the amount later in the day.

I would also get to a physiotherpist and get some exercises for the ankle and have them do some mobilization exercises.
