Peroneal Tendon pain after cortisone injection for heel spur...what could be the cause?

I received a cortisone injection on the inner portion of my heel to treat a heel spur. Since the injection, my heel spur feels fine but I have bruising, inflamation and pain on the outer aspect of my foot at the peroneal tendon. The pain and swelling increase with stretching or activity. I've been icing, taking Naproxen and using a topical anti-inflamatory from my Podiatrist. The pain is not resolving. What could have caused this? It didn't hurt until after I received the cortisone. It is painful enough that my daily activities are being affected. It has been 5 days since my last visit to the Pod for this pain. My cortisone injection was over 11 days ago. Ideas? Suggestions? Thank you.

DocPod 		The most likely reason is the alteration in the way you are walking either from the original pain of the heel spur or now since the pain relief. Peroneal pain is more common when you tip out at the ankle. Get on to your physician to see if there us something they can put in your shoe to alter that.
