I've had underlapping fifth toes since birth and I've just recently looked at my fourth toes and noticed that they're shaped very strangely. They have significant "dents" in them where the underlapping fifth toes press into. Both the flesh and the bones feel very different from my other toes. I've always had some foot pains while walking/standing, could this be related to my toes? And should I get them checked out anyway? I've never had any sort of conversations about my underlapping toes with a doctor.
Yes, get then checked. If they are what you say they are like, then there is a simple strapping or taping technique that can be used to help. If that does not, their is a relatively simple surgery that can fix them, if they need fixing.
It is hard to say if this is causing other foot problems without a proper diagnosis of what the other problems are.
