Every athletic sneaker I buy (they all have mesh on the top) rips where my big toes are.It happens w my siblings also.Iwas told it is because we have a LONG arch (not high)& that it comes down to the way we walk and size of shoe.what do you know of this?

I've searched the internet and can't fing anything on having a LONG arch? (again not high necessarily). Every athletic sneaker I find has varying thicknesses of mesh that meats with the materials near the top of the sneaker near the big toes. My sneakers rip after 4 weeks! My sister was told it is because of the long length of the arch and the way the foot has to move in the shoe - and that she needed to get a much larger size shoe so it spans her arch length - however there is then what seems to be far too much room at the toes, making the shoe seems like it doesn't fit because it's too large there. Has anyone ever heard of this and does anyone have any suggestions? It's more than frustrating. I've also been told I have "boney" feet. I have orthodics, but it doesn't fix the ripping sneakers issue. thank you

Thats a hard one. Not a lot you can do.
You might want to have a talk to a pedorthist who specialize in footwear modifications to see if they have something in their toolbox that can strengthen the upper of the shoe in that area.
