...I can find on the web lots of descriptions of it, but not much on what to do about it. How should it be treated?

An abductory twist is not a diagnosis; it is noticed during a gait analysis and it is just a sign of other problems. So, it is not really "treated". Rather than me regurgitate things, have a read of tehse resources:
