About 9 months ago I began experiencing pain in the second toe on my left foot. It became swollen and hot and there was pain at the tip and the point where toe connects to foot with some ball of foot pain directly below. Now, middle toe (next to second toe) is painful with swelling on the underside of the toe at the first joint and the ball of foot pain is acute. I have had blood test to rule out gout, etc. and an MRI and Ortho does not know what's happening other than possibly rheumatoid arthritis. Based on descriptions on line I think capsulitis. I am worried since recently middle tow became involved. Any ideas? btw... I do have osteoarthritis in my knees and I can feel arthritis in other toes on other foot too.
