So.....within two days -literally -my toenail went through some major changes. I did not bump it, stub it, or injure it in any way. I mean, my big R toe has never been the best-looking toe, but this is crazy. The middle of the nail suddenly peeled half the width...... just in the middle. Now the nail is starting to uplift and separate from the cuticle end (not the tip!). It's hard to see the latter characteristic in the picture, but it's soft and poofy (since it's normally under the skin). I'm tired of researching this and I cannot find any pics online that look like mine. I am a super-clean person and am pretty sure the cause is not some unseen fungus. Any one have this before? Man, I don't want to lose my nail bc a new one might grow funny. And if I go to a podiatrist, knowing my luck, he'll probably say there's nothing wrong.
