I was recently diagnosed with hallux rigidux and am on the search for appropriate men's business casual shoes. I've found that traditional dress shoes don't offer enough support.
Generally the better shoe fro hallux rigidus is either a very stiff soled shoe in the forefoot to prevent the big toe joint moving too much or a shoe with a "rocker" type design in the forefoot to also allow the joint to move less.
Any specific models that you recommend?
I am interested in the answer to this question and would like to hear about recommendations for specific shoe models.
Thanks
I agree its a very frustrating process. I have yet to find a wingtip or oxford style dress shoe that is comfortable since I had HR. I think it also negatively affected my working career when I couldn't strictly adhere to the shoe dress code.
If you want to look halfway normal your best bet is a boat shoe with a soft nubuck leather top.
