The ads claim this technology stretches the plantar and Achilles tendons when walking, but not sure if this the same type of "stretch" accomplished when doing plantar fascistic exercises, or if this type of stretching should be worn all day.
There is no research evidence that they help or hurt.
Generally, I think you will find that most health professionals would in the absence of any evidence recommend against it.
Personally, I have a pair and do wear them for a few hours every few days as they are helpful for a number of things, mainly because they alter the gait and recruit different muscles differently at different times. This is sort of a 'training effect'.
My clinical experience with these types of shoes is mixed. They really do help a number of people, but at the same time they really do hurt a number of people. I do not think we know enough at this stage to pick those that will benefit.
