I have worn Converse style shoes for years, needless to say those kind of shoes are flat and have no arch support. I believe my arches have fallen, or they have been that way for years, I dont know, but either way I have flat feet. I have started a job that requires a lot of standing. I wore my regular converse on the first day and my feet began to hurt so I bought Nike's with the normal insole (a bit of arch support and padding, more so than the flat shoes I have worn) the next day and my feet hurt even WORSE than with the converse shoes! I am confused! Why is this happening? Are the Nike shoes not providing enough support? Do I just need time to adjust to the new style of shoe I am wearing? What will help me?

Sorry, this is such a complex question, it is impossible to answer without a clinical assessment to determine what is going on.
