I went to two podiatrists for a marble sized lump between 4th and 5th toes where foot pad meets toes. It’s painful to press, otherwise bothersome but I can step in a way to avoid it.
1st doc took X-ray, spent 5 minutes with me and diagnosed Morton’s Neuroma. Gave me shoe inserts, told me to avoid stepping on it and if it didn’t get better, he would inject a steroid. If that didn’t work, he would remove it and strip nerves.
2nd opinion doctor also took another X-ray. She said it’s a lipoma and she would never inject a steroid in it, but would remove it. I told her about the first docs diagnosis and asked if an MRI would give a definite answer. She said yes, and one is scheduled for this Thursday.
Meanwhile, my PCP says I could see an MD for a 3rd opinion.
I’m hoping whoever reads the MRI at the radiology lab will give a diagnosis, and I’ll go back to whichever Podiatrist was right.
Any advice or suggestions?
Wait for the MRI imaging. It will tell you what it is.
