I have a patient who suffers from diabetes. He has undergone an operation to debris the wound on the ball of his foot. The tissue grew back, however after a couple of weeks he develops a fissure that deepens and must be cut out. The patient is 6’ and weighs about 270 lbs. These fissures keep developing over again. Is there any methods used to keep them from forming? Is there a mesh or material that can be glued or attached to the outer epidermal to help support the tissue and or other solutions that would reinforce the tissue over a longer period of time. What causes these fissures to develop over and over again?
