I was playing soccer when a girl kicked the inside on my ankle causing it to role to the outside. I felt a pop and instantly felt a bump of the outside of my ankle. The next day I went to my athletic trainer and she taped me up and allowed my to return to play 3 days later. It caused me a fair amount of pain for the next 3 weeks while I was playing soccer but I just tuffed it out. After this, my season was over so I just assumed it would get better, but it did not. It does feel a little better now and I can walk on it with no pain. I'm only worried about it because my Cross Country season is stating up in a couple of week and my ankle needs to be ok to do 35 mile weeks. So should I go see a doctor or is this just normal healing and it would be a waste of money?
Its not normal. usually at this stage if it is still a problem you generally going to need a lot of physical therapy; suggest you get to a physical therapist.
