Tendon problems or neuropathy ?

I think my doctor is misdiagnosing widespread tendon problems for neuropathy. It may be partially neuropathy symptoms. But on the left foot I have a sensation of all the tendons on top being stiff and sort of creaky feeling. Like its arthritis excess there is no movement pain in the tendons or toes or toe joints. Just stiff feeling that partially abates with walking or stretching on stairs for awhile. Also, the left ankle frequently hurts and gets worse fast when I go barefooted on concrete to step outside the house for a minute. Not as much of a problem when I put my shoes on with a arc cushion in them. Also, it seems to spread up the leg and feel almost like shin splints the longer I stand. It even bothers the left knee some and the left hip.

I think what I need is a good podiatrist and my primary care physician is stuck on neuropathy and more gabapentin. The right foot that has never been as bad as the left but still has the stiff feeling on the top of the foot going to the toes seems to be improving with more walking and foot stretching. But the left side is so much worse, it might be improving, but its hard to tell. I am just going off what the right foot feels like as probable improvement that the walking and stretching is the right track for the left foot also.

I think I might have found what it is. I found a webpage of a Kinetics practitioner that was demonstrating a self help fascia release technique. Every problem in every spot I have from the big toe to almost the knee was there on what she was treating and what she treats in her office. It may not be neuropathy or tendonitis. It might be bound of fascia. With over a decade of slow progression getting more and more messed up. Since I have a bit of experience in the past of what this is, now I see it and the places it effects it makes allot of sense and explains why since I started pushing the walking and stretching in the last couple of weeks it is improving rather quickly if it was a pure neuropathy problem. Now that I might have found the primary issue and can work harder on the idea it is centered on extremely tight and bound fasica, if correct and I treat it that way even more, should improve faster if correct.

Hard to say without seeing you, but what you are describing does not sound like tendinitis nor neuropathy. You need more investigations.
