Does running cadence affect plantar fasciitis?

I have been running for 10 yrs and have had plantar fasciitis on and off for the last few yrs. I have read a lot about running form and running cadence and was wondering if changing that actually works for plantar fasciitis.

Basically, no.
Running form or running cadence does not appear to have anything to do with plantar fasciitis. Heel strikers get it; forefoot strikers get it; minimalist and barefoot runners get it; traditional running shoe wearers get it.
Running form and cadence is important for other injuries, I just remain unconvinced that it is a problem for plantar fasciitis.
I blogged about that issues here: Is minimalism an option to manage plantar fasciitis? - you can read there and follow the links to exactly what the evidence says rather than believe the rhetoric and propaganda that you read all over the place on the web!

I also wrote this blog post: Plantar Fasciitis – how then do you treat it? for a similar reason to try and address all the nonsense you read on the web about it and the best way to address it.
