Are Orthaheel's Orthotix supposed to hurt?

Hi, i do not have a custom made orthotix, but rather i buy the pre-made ones from a company called Orthaheel. They are allegedly quite good, i have had them for some years now, and i admit that they actually have helped and i have sort of gotten used to it now.

The way i say gotten used to it, is that when i put them on and walk for about 15mins or so, non stop, it just feels like a normal shoe, it feels normal.
BUT after a certain point in time, when i walk too much, or when i run for a certain amount of time. My feet start to hurt, in a way that i can actually feel orthotics arch support thing which is hard pressing on to my flat feet arch. The only way i can sooth the pain is when i have to stop what i am doing and rest my feet, and then it starts off normal without feeling some pain, but after a while i feel it again.

Can anyone tell me if this is common? Will getting an actually podiatrist to mould a specific orthotix be better?
Thanks so much for your reply on this. From hearing what you said, i think i might just go see a chiropodist (if thats wat u call it these days) and have a check. Because the pain really does hurt, and when i take my shoes off, i can see really puffed up veins on the arch of my feet where the arch support has been pressing on...and also i could also make out 'how' the arch support is 'supposedly' pushing my feet muscles.
But as i rest without wearing them, they go back to normal.

Anyway, thanks again!

Yes, the pain indicates that they are not shaped for the way you roll your feet when you walk. Everybody is different, so these pre-made orthotics will not suit eeveryone. I guarantee you, a moulded pair will make a lot of difference to the way you walk. Reduced foot pain and back pain.
