Help after ingrown toenail surgery ?

I had ingrown toenail surgery in November 2014. Worst decision I ever made, I have had recurrent pain and infections ever since, and still have to cut the nail out every month even though he claimed he chemically cauterized it. I have been treatung it myself since the initial surgery was so painful and a can't afford another multi hundred dollar visit to the podiatrist (that was after insurance, currently I have no insurance). This latest infection has been going on over a week and I can't seem to curb the pain. After salt soaks and ointment didn't work, I added drawing salve, which is helping I can see it pulling infection out, but now I'm noticing a ton of granulated tissue that is getting more painful. This whole experience has led me to a hate and fear of podiatrists and I can't afford another visit. I would love some options that I can try myself. It's getting painful to walk and that's not an option, I'm a CNA. Pear help!

DocPod 		There us always a few % of ingrown toenails that are removed and treated with chemical cautery that do grow back. I have always just done them again and none have grown back the second time.
From what you are saying, you really do not have an option but to have it done again if you want a more permanent solution.
