Ingrown toenail removed over a month ago and still have pain and swelling after procedure?
I got the sides of my ingrown toenail removed almost 2 months ago using phenol as well. The toe was healing normally but a red bump was starting to form right beside the nail. My doctor had told me it was a granuloma which was a normal response of the body and how it heals. The red bump at that time was dry and not painful unless i applied a lot of pressure. I occasionally soaked my foot here and there waiting for the swelling to go down. About a week ago, i applied pressure on the area and pus came out. So i soaked it in epsom salt and hot water and applied an antibiotic cream. This helped but not fully. As soon as i would be in shoes and standing all day it was back to swollen and red. Today it started throbbing and still.red and swollen. What could this be? Is it a granuloma or is my toe infected at this point? How could I heal it completely without it getting swollen and "infected" every time im in shoes for a long period of time?
