Need to know if I have something torn in my foot or if it could just be a deep bruise in my bone ?

Broke the 5th metatarsal back in sept it was healing and was in a walking boot. About 4 weeks ago I had missed and step and sprained my ankle same foot and since then I've had these sharp shooting pains on the side where it had been broken. My dr us ordering ct scan but I would just like some kind of guess as to what it might be I've been in pain ever since. Do u have any idea what could cause this type of pain
