What length valgus wedge for torn peroneal brevis tendon?

Hello. I am an ultramarathon runner who tore the peroneal brevis tendon a year ago. After other, ineffective treatments, I got a cortisone shot which helped immensely. Since then, I've been back to running and have made some valgus wedges to use in that foot's shoe. Should it be a full foot or heel only wedge...or is it a try and see what works thing? II'm stuck at 3 hours pain-free but seem to be plateauing. Thank you for any assistance.

DocPod 		Depends on how much force is needed. A full length wedge has a greater lever arm and provides more force, but that may be too much force. Start with a heel wedge and see how you go.

What is probably equally important and maybe more important is an eccentric loading program for the tendon. There is next to no info available on a peroneus brevis problem, but look up 'eccentric loading for achilles tendonitis' -- this is the type of program that needs to be in place for any tendon injury. See a physical therapist for more if you need help.
